Object description:

The heliotype represents two panels with the head of an angel head, and the head of a man with corns in the centers, surrounded with floral motifs in Baroque style. The print is part of the series titled Deutsches Maler-Journal. The compilation of high quality chromolithographs and heliotypes was published in more booklets between 1877 and 1894. The ornamental prints depict different details of ceilings, staircases, wall decorations, painted wood- and marble-like surfaces to serve as historic examples for the architects, the painters, the sculptors, the craftsmen, as well as for the professors and students of the art and industrial education.
