Η εικόνα απεικονίζει μια ομάδα μαθητών μαζί με το δάσκαλο τους και λήφθηκε στην Μερσίνα (Κιλικία, Τουρκία) την 1η Ιανουαρίου 1889 (επιγραφή στο κάτω μέρος της εικόνας). Ο δάσκαλος είναι ο Avedis Der Avedissian, πατέρας του φωτογράφου Diran Der Avedissian. Ιδιωτική συλλογή Der Avedissian-Hawley. - The image depicts a group of student boys with their teacher and it was taken in Mersin (Cilicia, Turkey) on 1st January 1889 (inscription on the lower part of the picture). The teacher is Avedis Der Avedissian, father of the photographer Diran Der Avedissian. Private collection Der Avedissian-Hawley.
