[PL]: Franciszkanie przybyli do Krakowa w 1237 r., wkrótce potem rozpoczęli budowę kościoła. Pierwotnie miał on plan krzyża łacińskiego i nawiązywał do kościoła św. Franciszka w Viterbo. Konsekracja nastąpiła w 1249 r. W roku 1277 zakon uzyskał nowy teren, na którym wybudowano nawę północną, obejmującą obecną kaplicę Męki Pańskiej.
