Object description:
Photographic sequence by Eadweard Muybridge. Collotype (vintage print), numbered, Plate 624. Daisy Galloping saddled. Animal Locomotion, an Electro-Photographic Investigation of Consecutive Phases of Animal Movements, 1872-1885. Published under the auspices of the University of Pennsylvania.
Muybridge made more than 100.000 photographs of animals and people in movement, publishing a selection of them in his volume Animal Locomotion (1885). The results had a great repercussion all over the world, as he demonstrated for the first time that it was possible to clearly photograph a moving body.
