Object description:

Tapestry showing the scene of a woman and a child with a zograscope. An original instrument from Great Britain used to view optical views in the home, from the second half of the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century. It consists of a wooden support holding a square frame with a biconvex lens set into it. An adjustable inclining mirror has been attached to it for observing an optical view, which was placed below and behind the instrument.
