Thanks to Méliès, the cinema discovered its more fantastic and spectacular facets, and paved the way to creating a new visual language, the language of cinematography. Once more, the initial scientific-pedagogic function of an invention in the field of image productions was turned to the creation of a new form of visuals entertainment, with the avowed aim of fascinating and amazing the audience with new images, more surprising than any seen before.
