Object description:

Chromatrope. Rectangular framework with two mobile glass slides. This is a type of magic lantern slide invented in 1830 by H. L. Childe. It was a combination of two plated with geometric shapes that turned in the opposite direction by means of a handle, producing a highly suggestive chromatic 3 positions diaphragm inside effect that was similar to a Kaleidoscope.
