Object description:

International Mutoscope Reel Co. Device with magnifying lens (10 x 4. 5 cm) for the observation of a roll of photographic images (7 x 5 cm) within a tab (7 x 8 cm). It includes lid lock and key on the left side by the change of roll. This apparatus was patented by the American H. Casler in 1894. It was an apparatus based on the Filoscope, though the cards were placed around an axis that was made to turn with a handle. This apparatus appeared in competition with the Kinetoscope, given that the visual effect and the type of images were quite similar. They were found in public establishments and worked by inserting a coin.
