Kinora

Bond's Ltd. Kinora. Mutoscope with magnifying lens (7 x 5 cm) for observation of a roll of Kinora photographs (2. 5 x 2 cm) included in a flap (5 x 2 cm). Varnished wood and black metal. This apparatus is a combination of the Filoscope technique and the Mutoscope. The instrument was placed on a table where the images could be seen through a lens with the rotation activated by a handle. The picture on each card corresponded to a cinematographic still film. In a period when visual effects still had an impact, this apparatus made it possible to view a film at home without projecting it, eliminating the need for expensive cinematographic equipment.
